Crucified Barbara - In Distortion we trust

Endlich habe ich es dann doch geschafft mir das viel gelobte Album “In distortion we trust”, von der schwedische Puppen-Band Crucified Barbara zu besorgen. Die Band ist ja überall mit Lorbeeren überhäuft worden und man las und hörte nur Gutes über Mia Coldheart, die Dame ist übrigens sehr nett, und ihre Mädels.

Auch American Dog Frontman Michael Hannon lobte die Vier Schwedinnen über alle Massen. Die beiden Bands waren ja zusammen auf Tour und haben einen Song für ein Motörhead-Tribute aufgenommen.

Als ich das erste Mal „In distortion we trust“ in den Player legte, war ich gar nicht so begeistert, denn so heavy habe ich die Band nicht erwartet. Hier kommt der Begriff Sleaze-Metal wieder gut zum Einsatz. Allerdings rauschten die 11 Songs erst Mal an mir vorbei und ich habe ein langes Gesicht gemacht. Doch ein paar Durchläufe weiter und die hübschen Mädels haben mich um den Finger gewickelt. Mal nicht nur von der betörenden Optik ablenkend lassend, die Ladys sind aber auch echte Zuckerschnitten, habe ich mich voll auf die Musik konzentriert. Nach dem 2ten Durchlauf hatte mich der Titelsong an den Eiern, Mia Coldheart röhrt hier in viehischer Manier in Mikrofon und dürfte beim einsingen des Liedes in etwa so ausgesehen habe wie auf dem Cover. „Losing the Game“ wurde als Single ausgekoppelt und ist ein wenig softer als die beiden Ohrlaschen die man sich am Anfang einfängt. Der Refrain ist guter Stoff und macht sich als Ohrwurm breit.

Ohne Frage kann ich Crucified Barbara ein fantastisches Zeugnis ausstellen und meine Anfängliche Enttäuschung schiebe ich mal auf meine extrem hohe Erwartungshaltung zurück, welche die Scheibe erst nach kurzer Eingewöhnungsphase erfüllte.

Mächtige und dreckige Sleaze-Riffs treffen auf ungezügelte Metal-Power der 80ger und dazu noch die schnoderige Stimme von Grandame Coldheart, welche auf mich wie eine sottige Mischung aus Lita Ford (Stimmlich) und Joan Jett (optisch) wirkt.

Sleaze-Metal ist das Schlagwort, anders kann ich es nicht beschreiben was die Ladys hier rausrotzen. Außer auf Dangerous Toys und die Crank County Daredevils passt Sleaze-Metal so gut wie bei Crucified Barbara selten. Powertracks wie „I need a Cowboy from hell“, „Going Down“ oder das schmierige „I wet mySelf“ machen Spaß und Lust auf Bier und nackte Weiber. Ich glaube wenn man versucht bei den Mädels hier zu grapschen, hat man schnell die Fresse dick. Toughe Ladys mit Geschmack für coole Musik und einem Aussehen, das so manchen Mann in die Knie gehen lässt. Crucified Barbara sind irgendwie wie Girlschool nur in Hübsch.

Finally I made it and get the high acclaimed album „in distortion we trust“to check out. Crucified Barbara has got well and great reviews everywhere you see and go, so I must check out the CD of the four Swedish bombshells. I haven’t heard nothing bad about Mia Coldheart and her friends; btw Mia is also a very kind and nice person.

American Dog-Frontman Michael Hannon has only good words for this band, we remember both bands toured Europe together and played together on a Motörhead-Tribute.

My first round with “In Distrotion we trust” was not sooooooooo well, because I was total surprised how heavy they sound. I have expected something more into Rock´n roll. But with the time the CD gets me. Here comes our well know Sleaze-Metal. We used this only for Dangerous Toys and Crank County Daredevils so far, but Crucified Barbara deserves it to be called Sleaze-Metal, too. After I took on the 11 songs, one by one comes into my ears more and more. Okay first I been a bit too much focused on the beauty look all four have. But, hey all four are some hell of a beauty. Okay, now the got me, also with their music. First of all the Titeltrack hits me to the bone, when you hear Mia screaming it must be look like she´s acting on the cover. “Losing the Game” is the current single and a bit more melodic and catchy than the first two full of Metal-Attacks that leaves you with your ears bleeding. “Losing the game” is great stuff with a cool refrain.

I can give Crucified Barbara my blessing with this CD, to be honest I was a bit sceptical but no more reason for this anymore.

We get here really dirty Sleaze-Guitar-riffs and the heavy style form the good ol 80ties who brings in the power. The snotty voice of Ms Mia Coldheart is a dirty version of Lita Ford, and her looks reminds me a bit on a young Joan Jett.

Sleaze-Metal is the magic word here, no other description for the music of the four fantastic Barbaras. Check out such barnstormers as “Cowboy from hell”, “Going Down” or the sleazy “I wet myself”, this is music that makes me scream for beer and naked woman, ähhmm.

Finally Curcified Barbara are tough ladies with a great style of music and looks who brings a good man to his knees. Just like Girlschool in the past, but much better looking.
